Membership Manager

Position Summary: 

The Membership Manager  is responsible for maintaining and growing the multi-channel membership program primarily through revenue reporting, consultant management, expense tracking, event planning, stewardship of gifts and delivery of benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain campaign timeline through in-house membership tasks as well as external vendor communication
  • Liaise with and advise vendors that operate direct mail and telefundraising channels
  • Prepare data for telefundraising and direct mail
  • Supply pertinent materials and copy for collateral design
  • Coordinate gift entry for membership contributions
  • Maintain member biographical data in Raiser’s Edge, includes accurate member recognition
  • Prepare mailings, invitations and email correspondence to members, includes writing and updating member acknowledgment letters
  • Expedite timely and accurate member benefit fulfillment, includes managing member priority alerts, planning member events and facilitating Pre-Sales and discounts
  • Answer incoming member hotline calls 
  • Develop and monitor income and expense budgets, includes tracking of invoices and submission for approval
  • Maintain accuracy of revenue reporting
  • Through trend analysis, identify members for potential upgrade to the Vanguard Society
  • Coordinate volunteers for special projects
  • Attend and facilitate meetings as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of broad-based fundraising and/or marketing experience, direct mail program experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple activities and responsibilities
  • Self-starting, assertive, results-oriented personality with an ability to work with a wide array of personalities
  • Attention to detail combined with a high productivity work style
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Experience managing vendor relationships
  • Articulate, diplomatic, and able to work constructively and deftly under pressure
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel with strong working knowledge of Power Point
  • Experience with The Raiser’s Edge fundraising software, preferred
  • Ability to work nights and weekends when necessary
  • Experience in the arts, preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
