Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater 2017

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater 2017

Elegant, electrifying and marvelously athletic, this always dazzling company returns with programs that include some of its newest works as well as classics like Revelations, Alvin Ailey’s undisputed masterpiece.

Now more than ever, we need the power of dance to bring us all together, connected by our common humanity. Engage your emotions as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns with premieres that touch on timely topics and beloved works such as Revelations, which fervently explores the places of deepest grief and holiest joy in the soul.

America’s premier modern dance company is known for its vibrant fusion of modern dance, ballet and more. The company grew from a now-fabled performance in March 1958 at New York City’s 92nd Street Y. Led by Alvin Ailey and a group of young African-American modern dancers, that performance changed forever the perception of American dance.
