NJPAC’s cabaret series welcomes this rising star, Tony-nominated for his role in Broadway’s "The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess" and appearing in TV's "Scandal."
Be there for the NJPAC debut of this rising star, one of today’s hottest actor-vocalists. Tony-nominated for his role as Porgy opposite Audra McDonald in Broadway’s recent The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess, and currently starring opposite Kerry Washington on ABC’s hit series, Scandal, Norm Lewis lends his rich baritone to an eclectic set of Broadway tunes and American pop standards.
Lewis also released his debut solo CD, This is the Life!, which includes numbers from Hello, Dolly!, My Fair Lady and Into the Woods, as well as American standards like “Moon River,” “Misty” and “All the Things You Are”–and even opera, with his take on Di Provenza from Verdi’s La Traviata. “Here's a guy who has it in him to click with the same audiences who worship at the altars of sexy-suave singers like Seal, Usher, Josh Groban, and Michael Bublé,” says Backstage. See one of tomorrow’s leading men in the intimate setting of NJPAC’s Chase Room now!
The American Song Series at NJPAC is presented, in part, through the generous support of the Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation.
