I was BLOWN AWAY by last night's performance of "Rent" As the production coordinator of a summer youth theatre program in Atlanta for four years and as a "theatre parent" for many more years than that I can only say that this production was outstanding! There was not a weak link in the entire cast and I was delighted to see that the directors gave showcase pieces and cameos to EACH and EVERY cast member. Congratulations Shayne (you did a FABULOUS job) and all of you beautiful and extraordinarily talented young people! Angel was RIDICULOUSLY good!!!

NJYT's production of Rent is fanatastic! I have seen the show many times, national tour and on Broadway right before it closed. This production, although watered down due to being a youth production, is right there at the top of the heap! All the players exude brilliant and ferocious energy during the wildly exciting opening "Rent" song ... as well as Shayne Kennon (Roger) then bringing the house to tears during the final "Your eyes" song. I cannot rave enough about this production. The talent abounds with these young actors. Each and every one of them!!! Go see it.

My husband and I saw the Satutrday night performance. The cast and crew were fabulous. Everyone was terrific. Rent is one of our favorite musicals, having seen in on Broadway several times (including original cast in 1996). I must say I enjoyed this performance just as much. Bravo!

Not a big fan of this play but last nights performance was the best. Each actor was on the mark; I hope they can keep up the pace for the run of the show. Go see it - for the energy and the great cast. A tip of the hat to MJ (Angel) an NJPAC Summer Workshop "kid" who will go far. The triple threat indeed.
