The NJPAC Early Learning Through the Arts© Program is presented in conjunction with the nationally recognized Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts (www.wolf-trap.org/institute). It provides 3 to 5-year-old children with a foundation for future learning by teaching basic academic and life skills through the performing arts. Teaching artists specializing in creative dramatics, puppetry, music, storytelling, dance and movement come to your school twice a week for a seven-week period to demonstrate arts techniques with the pre-school and kindergarten students and classroom teachers.
Most importantly, this program is designed as a teacher training model which enables classroom teachers to continue the activities after the residency has concluded. The program is offered three times per school year: Fall, Winter and Spring. (Schools select one session.)

United Way Partnership/Young Writers Workshop NJPAC and the United Way of Essex and West Hudson have created a partnership to provide residency programs to United Way-sponsored agencies. Professional Teaching Artists who specialize in poetry, creative writing and dramatic writing are partnered with participating agencies to teach students the importance of literacy through writing and creative oral expression. The culmination of the program is a printed anthology of work created by participating residency students in addition to a Showcase Presentation. For more information, call (973) 642-8989, ext. 3115.
