Are pets allowed inside the theater?

No animals are permitted in the theater with the exception of registered service animals assisting persons with disabilities. Please contact NJPAC Ticket Services at 1-888-466-5722 if you are attending with a service animal.  We will make room accommodations and inform our guest services staff so that they are prepared for you.

Do you have hearing devices for those with hearing difficulties?

Sennheiser listening (infrared) devices are available in the lobby of the theater. Our Guest Services Staff can assist you. Patrons will be asked to leave a driver’s license or credit card as a deposit.

Where is the closest ATM?

An ATM (Chase Bank) is located on the outside of the building to the left of the rotunda entrance and under the arcade. The ATM is not managed by NJPAC.

How can I get an autograph of my favorite artist?

Autograph signings are at the discretion of the artists. Some artists will meet with fans following the performance at tables in the lobby. Other artists will “meet and greet” fans either pre- or post-performance as part of either a Fan Club or VIP ticket offer. No one is permitted access backstage to meet with any artist without prior approval of the artist’s management.

Am I required to check my bag?

Backpacks, suitcases and bags (excluding handbags) may not be taken into the theaters. They must be left at coat check, or when coat check is not open, with house management. Items may be checked free of charge. NJPAC reserves the right to inspect backpacks, suitcases and bags when being checked. In some instances, NJPAC may require the inspection of all handbags and cases at point of entry to the theater lobbies. Diaper bags carried into the theater are subject to search at the discretion of security.

Will I need binoculars or opera glasses to see if I’m in one of the tiers?

Customers are welcome to bring binoculars or “opera” glasses. NJPAC does not sell, rent, or loan “opera” glasses.

May I take bottle or can of beverage into the theater?

Glass bottles and open containers are not permitted in the theaters. When drinks are permitted in the theaters, they will be sold to customers in plastic or paper cups with lids. Plastic water bottles are permitted inside the theaters for some performances. The policy for each event will comply with artist and production requirements. Signs will be posted at concession locations advising of the policy for each specific performance. Please note that alcoholic beverages may not be brought onto NJPAC property from outside.

Where is your box office and when is it open?

The Box Office is located inside and to the left of the rotunda entrance of the building. Box Office hours are noon to 6pm Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 5pm on Sundays. The Box Office is closed on Mondays. Hours may vary on holidays and during the summer. The Box Office accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard and VISA. How can I get my own personalized brick on your Square?

Patrons donating $300 or more to NJPAC may have a brick inscribed in their name or in memory of another and placed in Theater Square. For more information on becoming a donor at the $300 level or other levels, please click here to go to our membership pages.

Can I bring a camera to the performance?

Cameras and audio recording devices are not permitted in the theater. The taking of video and pictures, especially flash photos, is disruptive and inconsiderate to both the artist and other members of the audience. Just as importantly, the visual and audio performances of the artist are  protected under both US and international copyright laws. The arts center has the right to confiscate all recording devices.

If the weather is bad, do you cancel performances?

Unless a state of emergency is declared or the performers are unable to get to the theater, performances will go on as scheduled. Please allow extra travel time and consider the use of public transportation. Please check our web site as well as postings on our Twitter and Facebook pages for weather related updates.

How old must my child be to attend a performance?

NJPAC recommends that children under the age of 5 years not attend adult performances. Please consider NJPAC’s family programs for young children. Regardless of age, all persons, including babes-in-arms, must have a ticket. Please call NJPAC Ticket Services for more information about family programs. Any child under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. 

Is there a place to check my coat or briefcase?

NJPAC has a coat check that is open for all Prudential Hall performances. The coat check is located to the left side of the main rotunda entrance. Items may be checked free of charge.

Are there places to get food and drink at the theater other than in your restaurant?

Refreshment bars are located in the Prudential Hall lobby, the upper Rotunda, and all tiers of Prudential Hall. These concessions offer a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as sandwiches and snacks. Refreshment bars are open one hour prior to Prudential Hall shows and remain open until the end of intermission. Concessions are available 90-minutes before and during performances.

Where can I find directions to your theater?

Is NJPAC accessible to people with disabilities?

NJPAC is accessible to people with disabilities. Please call NJPAC Ticket Services at 1-888-GO-NJPAC (1-888-466-5722) before purchasing tickets online if you require wheelchair seating, large print programs or the services of a sign language interpreter. For those with a hearing loss who wish to order tickets by phone, please contact New Jersey Relay Services (dial 711) and have them connect you with NJPAC Ticket Services at 1-888-GO-NJPAC. What is the dress code?

There is no dress code for events at NJPAC unless specifically noted. Attire can range from business casual to jeans, t-shirts and sneakers. Your feet must be covered at all times.

Are there elevators to all floors of the theater?

Yes, all levels of Prudential Hall, The Chase Room, Parsonnet Room, Lawrence P. Goldman Community Room, the Ryan Gallery, and the Victoria Theater are accessible by elevator.

Do you have family restrooms?

NJPAC does not have family restrooms. However, if there is a need while you are here, particularly where assistance with someone with a disability is required, please notify our Guest Services Staff.

Is there a first aid station in the theater?

In the event you should become injured while attending a performance or event, please contact a member of our Guest Services Staff immediately. They will summon NJPAC Security who are trained in first aid response and will work with City of Newark emergency services if needed.

Do you offer group rates on tickets?

NJPAC does offer discounted prices for most performances for groups of 10 or more people. Please call our Group Sales office at 1-973-297-5804 to speak with a member of the Group Sales team, or visit our Group information page.

Do you charge handling fees?

Tickets ordered by phone and on the website are subject to a per-ticket handling fee. Tickets purchased at the Box Office are not subject to handling fees, with the exception of subscription orders. Subscribers pay a flat fee per order. 

Will I be able to be seated after the performance begins?

Patrons not in their seats at the start of a performance may be asked to wait to enter the theater. In some instances, delayed seating may not take place until intermission. Late seating times are established by each artist working with our house management staff. Please allow extra time when traveling to the arts center to ensure you have plenty of time to get to your seat before the performance begins.

Where is your lost and found?

NJPAC has a lost and found located at our Security desk. If you lose an item during a performance, please contact a member of our Guest Services Staff. Should you need to contact someone after you have left the arts center, please call the NJPAC Security office at 973-642-8989.

What happens if I lose or misplace my tickets, or they never arrive in the mail as promised?

If tickets are lost or never received in the mail, please call NJPAC Ticket Services at 1-888-GO-NJPAC (466-5722). Group sales and Flex Tix purchasers should call 1-888-My-NJPAC (696-5722). Replacement tickets will be available on the evening or afternoon of your performance and must be claimed by the person who purchased them by presenting a valid ID. Should there be someone else in your seats after entering the theater, please contact a member of our Guest Services staff.

Do you have a gift shop?

NJPAC does not have a gift shop. However, for some performances, merchandise related to the artists appearing on the stage may be available for sale at a location in the lobby before and after the performance and during intermission.

Where can I park?

Safe and affordable parking is available on the premises at NJPAC. Three gated and attended street level lots (NJPAC Lots A, B, and C) are next to or across the street from the arts center. In addition, the Military Park Garage, a three level parking deck located under Military Park directly across the street from the main rotunda entrance, provides parking for up to 1,000 vehicles. Performance parking prices range from $16 to $17. A $15 advance parking discount voucher for may be purchased online, by phone or at the Box Office prior to the performance date. The voucher covers the cost of parking during a performance in any open space in all NJPAC parking locations.

Is there a place I can park if I want to run in quickly to buy tickets?

On afternoons when no performance is scheduled, NJPAC offers $2.00 parking stickers for up to one hour when purchasing tickets directly through the Box Office. To receive this discounted parking, please park in the Military Parking Garage and present your parking ticket at the Box Office.

What kinds of payments do you take?

The NJPAC Box Office accepts cash as well as American Express, Discover, MasterCard and VISA. Personal checks will be accepted up to two weeks prior to a performance. Personal checks must be made payable to NJPAC and must have the name, address and phone number of the check bearer on them. A driver’s license or photo ID must also be presented.

Can I get a refund if I miss my performance?

There are no refunds for tickets unless a performance is cancelled by NJPAC or a performance date is changed.

Where are your restrooms?

Restrooms are located on all five levels on both sides of Prudential Hall and on both levels of the Victoria Theater. Restrooms for The Chase Room are adjacent to the room. All restrooms are handicapped accessible. Our restrooms have been rated some of the best in New Jersey.

How many seats are in NJPAC?

The capacity of Prudential Hall is 2868 seats. Victoria Theater seats 511. The Chase Room seats 250. Capacities may sometime be reduced depending upon staging arrangements of a production. 

Do you have a seating chart of your theater I can look at?

Seating charts are available online for Prudential Hall and Victoria Theater. In addition, graphic representations of the seating maps are visible while ordering tickets online for most performances, unless a performance is general admission, meaning there are no assigned seat locations.

Can I smoke in the theater?

NJPAC is a smoke-free environment.

Do you have standing room tickets?

There is standing room for select performances only when a general admission standing room ticket is offered that takes the place of a normally reserved ticket seating area.

Do you have discounts for senior citizens?

We do not offer senior citizen discounts.

Do you have discounts for students?

NJPAC has a Student RUSH program for select performances. High school and college students may purchase up to two tickets for $10 each upon presentation of a student ID verifying current enrollment. Visit our Student Rush page for a list of available performances along with the terms and conditions of the program.

Do you have a subscription series?

NJPAC offers a subscription ticket program prior to the start of each season for Bank of America Classical Series performances. Subscriptions take the form of either a fixed series of performances as selected by our programming staff, or a Create Your Own series of three or more performances that you select. Subscriptions offer the opportunity both to save money over the full price of a ticket and first choice of seats before tickets go on sale to the general public.

Do you offer tours and how may I book one?

Tours of NJPAC are available to both groups and individuals by appointment. Click here for more information, or call our Tour Line: 973-297-5857 to make arrangements.

What is Will Call and how does it work?

Will Call is located at the NJPAC Box Office and is for patrons who ordered tickets and/or advance discount parking vouchers by phone or online within 10 days of the performance, the mailing destination is outside the US, or when a patron requests us to hold tickets for pickup. Unless specifically posted, Will Call tickets may be picked up from any Box Office window right up to the day of the performance. On show days, the Box Office is open for “Will Call” and same day performance sales until the first intermission or 30 minutes after a performance begins when there is no intermission.

Do you have public WiFi access?

No, NJPAC does not have WiFi access.

Will I have to pay more for tickets purchased through Ticketmaster?

As in the past, you will pay only NJPAC’s standard service fees. There is no extra charge for Ticketmaster.

How will Ticketmaster change the way I do business with NJPAC?

It will add speed and convenience to your transactions in the following ways:

• Ticketmaster online ordering, a superior option to the former method of buying online
• Easy access to Ticketmaster via phone, Internet and retail Ticketmaster outlets
• Timely e-mail alerts to the shows you want to see
• Print-at-home capability
• On-site ticket scanning to facilitate entry
• The ability to order tickets faster, with fewer online delays
• Optional ticket insurance and express delivery
 

Can I transfer my tickets to another person?

When you order tickets at njpac.org or 1-888-GO-NJPAC, you can easily and quickly transfer ownership of the tickets to another person via email at no additional charge. The recipient can then print the tickets at his or her home. To learn more about ticket transfers, click here.

Will I still be able to purchase tickets directly at the box office window?

Yes. NJPAC’s Box Office at One Center Street in Newark is open Tuesdays-Saturdays from noon-6pm and Sundays from noon-5pm. The Box Office is closed on Mondays.
