Due to positive COVID tests related to the Hip Hop Nutcracker tour and out of an abundance of caution for health and safety, the Hip Hop Nutcracker performances at NJPAC in Newark, NJ TODAY at 2PM and 8PM today are being canceled. The tour has strict COVID safety protocols and is closely following all CDC guidelines.
The Elders Tribute and Kwanza Marketplace will also sadly be cancelled however you can still take advantage of our Kwanza programs virtually here or our Facebook page.

A holiday mash-up for the whole family, The Hip Hop Nutcracker returns to the stage for its seventh season on tour. Directed and choreographed by Jennifer Weber, this contemporary dance spectacle is a re-mixed and re-imagined version of the classic, smashing hip hop dance and Tchaikovksy’s timeless music together into a heart-stirring and inspirational holiday event. The Hip Hop Nutcracker is brought to life by a powerhouse cast of a dozen all-star dancers, a DJ, a violinist, and MC Kurtis Blow, one of hip hop’s founding fathers, who opens the show with a short set.

A fee of $3.50 has been added to all performance tickets to offset the cost of COVID-19 upgrades and maintenance for performances taking place between September 1, 2021, through July 1, 2022.
