Dianne Reeves & Gregory Porter
This concert will feature two of the greatest vocalists in jazz: GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter Gregory Porter, whose latest LP is the acclaimed Nat King Cole & Me, and 5-time GRAMMY winner and 2018 NEA Jazz Master Dianne Reeves.
Singer-songwriter Gregory Porter won the GRAMMY Award for “Best Jazz Vocal Album” twice, in 2014 for Liquid Spirit, and in 2017 for Take Me to the Alley. Primarily known for his work in jazz, he is equally adept working in soul and gospel genres. In additional to his frequent concert appearances, Porter starred on Broadway in the hit musical revue, It Ain't Nothin’ But the Blues.
Dianne Reeves’ improvisational prowess and unique jazz and R&B stylings earned her the GRAMMY for “Best Jazz Vocal Performance” for three consecutive recordings — a GRAMMY first in any vocal category. She was also awarded a GRAMMY for her work on George Clooney’s film, Good Night, and Good Luck, and most recently for her LP Beautiful Life, on which she lends her vocal genius to covers of Bob Marley's "Waiting in Vain," Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams," Marvin Gaye's "I Want You," and more.
