Join NJPAC Arts Education faculty in a Hip Hop Festival for the whole family before the Horizon Foundation Sounds of the City performance with EPMD & Universal Hip Hop Museum.
You will be able to participate in one or several of the workshops below:

An introduction to DJing’ with Cutmaster Cool V! You will have a touch and go time learning how the DJ’s do it with backspins, scratchin’ and blendin’ music to move the crowd!

Learn beatboxing and sound manipulation to make music! As you plug into you, you will discover your voice and found objects are as instruments.

A guided music production workshop where the entire group shares ideas and good vibes to create an original Hip Hop beat! Both innovation & imagination are used to make beats and begin making music with technology!

Create a Hip Hop name and learn the Hip Hop style of writing to leave your mark and celebrate your creative self expression!

Roots & Culture Dance Workshop
Learn moves and the movements they are connected to. Experience how his/her story is inspired by and expressed through Hip Hop dance.
