Jersey New Moves!
The fourth annual edition of this Garden State showcase features the work of five of New Jersey’s best up-and-coming choreographers.
After an open submission process, chosen artists are mentored year-round by artistic directors of some of the modern dance world’s leading companies. Their world premieres, representing diverse dance styles from modern to classical Kathak from India, will be shared for the first time with NJPAC audiences.

- Joe Monteleone, Hazlet
Mentor: Nai-Ni Chen of Nai-Ni Chen Dance. Monteleone performs and designs his solo work, In Nomine Pan
- Barkha Patel, Tenafly
Mentor: Randy James of 10 Hairy Legs. Patel is a classical Kathak dancer who appears in her solo piece, Maula E Kull
- Daniel Padierna, Wallington
Mentor: Randy James of 10 Hairy Legs. A dance ensemble performs Padierna's America, based on themes of equality, gender and race.
- Nijawwon Matthews, Newark
