Spend an evening with a living legend of American song when music icon Tony Bennett brings a concert of greatest hits and more. With special guest Antonia Bennett.
Inimitable song stylist Tony Bennett recently celebrated his 92nd birthday, and he’s still going strong. His album Love Is Here to Stay (out Sept. 14) is a collaboration with Diana Krall on which the pair pay tribute to the immortal music of George and Ira Gershwin. The album’s lead single, “Fascinating Rhythm,” is a new version of Bennett’s very first single, released way back in 1946.
Bennett is one of only a handful of artists to have new albums reach the charts during each decade beginning in the 1950s right through to today. During his career, he has introduced a multitude of songs that have since become standards, chart-toppers like “Because of You,” “Rags to Riches,” “I Wanna Be Around,” “The Good Life,” “Who Can I Turn To (When Nobody Needs Me),” and his signature song, “I Left My Heart in San Francisco.”
With a long list of platinum and gold albums to his credit, Bennett has received an astounding 19 GRAMMY Awards as well as the GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award. He is a Kennedy Center Honoree, an NEA Jazz Master, and last year was awarded The Gershwin Prize by the Library of Congress, marking the first time this prestigious honor has been bestowed upon an “interpretive singer” as opposed to a composer.
