NEWARK, N.J. (May 21, 2020) — Katie Sword, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications, was named one of the NJ Ad Club’s Jersey’s Best 40 Under 40 MARCOM Professionals. The association, which represents communications professionals across the state, made the announcement on Wednesday.

The honor is presented annually to New Jersey marketing executives in a range of fields whose work has had “a substantial impact on the industry” while they are still in the early years of their careers. Sword, 36, was the only executive at a performing arts venue to be named to this year’s list. “Katie’s insight, enthusiasm and incredible work ethic have made her a transformational asset to the Arts Center since she arrived here eight years ago” said John Schreiber, NJPAC’s President, and CEO.

“All of us at NJPAC are proud that Katie’s hard work on behalf of the Arts Center has been recognized by this state-wide group of her peers. If you understand the work of NJPAC as an anchor cultural institution, or if you’ve seen the artists who perform here featured on a billboard over I-280 or on our social media feed, you’ve seen Katie’s work and understand the impact she’s had on this organization,” he added.

Sword grew up in Hudson Falls, NY, and received both a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from the State University of New York College, Potsdam. Before joining the NJPAC team, she served as Marketing Manager for the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY, and the Marketing Director at the Mayo Center for the Arts in Morristown.

She lives with her husband and two young children in Morris County, NJ.
