The Bethany Baptist Church of Newark celebrates 25 years of monthly Jazz Vespers! Join us at Bethany Baptist for this free concert combining jazz music and worship.
In November, we welcome the George Cables Trio. “One of the premier hard bop pianists” (Jazz Weekly), George has had a major impact on the jazz landscape since the 1960s, as an in-demand sideman for many of the greats. His engaging energy at the keys will grab you and pull you along for the ride. Rounding out this enjoyable trio are bassist Alexander Claffy (called “a singular artistic voice” by JazzTimes) and the “adventurous drummer” (DownBeat) Jerome Jennings.
