Saturday Programs

Wells Fargo Jazz for Teens

Ages: 13–18
Time: 10AM–6PM
Fall Semester: Sep 21–Dec 14
Spring Semester: Feb 1–May 2

Instrumental and vocal students learn from the best in the industry! Auditions are required and will be held on Sat, Jan 25 from 10AM–2PM.

Hip Hop Intensive

Ages: 10-18
Fall Semester: Sep 21-Dec 14
Spring Semester:
 Feb 1-May 2

Students will learn the major elements of hip-hop, explore issues that are important to them and their community, and enhance their performance and writing skills as they share their original work with confidence and style.

NJPAC Filmmakers

Grades: 9–12
Time: 10AM–5PM
Fall Semester: Sep 21–Dec 14
Spring Semester: Feb 1–Apr 25

Students learn the fundamentals of filmmaking with an emphasis on creating their own original films. Each class is focused on attaining artistic and technical skills in a new area: camera, audio, and editing programs.

M.A.N.Y. (Music Advancement for Newark-area Youth)

M.A.N.Y offers programs for beginning and experienced students on string, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments.

Who is eligible?
Students entering grades 5–10 in the following communities: Bayonne, Belleville, Bloomfield, East Orange, Elizabeth, Harrison, Hillside, Irvington, Jersey City, Kearny, Maplewood, Newark, Orange, Paterson and South Orange.

Write and Perform In Your Own Musical!

Ages: 10–16
Time: 10AM–12PM
Spring Semester: Feb 1–Apr 25

Musical Theater students focus on the process of creating a musical and examine the many elements of the form including: choreography, acting and the creative writing structure.

Create and Perform Your Own Short Play

Ages: 10–18
Time: 10AM–12PM
Spring Semester: Feb 1–Apr 25

Acting students will create a series of short plays through improvisation and collaboration. They will write the script, rehearse and perform their work.
