Overview

Catch the next generation of great jazz artists from right here in New Jersey. Every year, the NJMEA All-State Jazz Ensemble showcases rising talent from across the state. As a longtime supporter of arts education, NJPAC is proud to host these incredible students and share their music with our community.

Leading the all-star band is the brilliant, award-winning trombonist, composer and bandleader Steve Turre. One of the most prolific jazz trombonists of our time, Turre has played with everyone from Santana to Herbie Hancock to Tito Puente. He’s played trombone for Saturday Night Live’s house band since 1985 and is renowned for his experimental use of seashells as musical instruments.

This event is presented by NJPAC’s Arts Education Department and the New Jersey Music Educators Association.
