The NJPAC Creative Development and Space Grant Program assists in making your creative dream a reality. Through this program, candidates can apply for reduced-rate rentals of spaces on NJPAC’s campus, including theaters, rehearsal studios, banquet halls and outdoor plaza. Our customizable indoor and outdoor venues feature best-in-class audio, video and lighting technologies.
Full or partial subsidies may cover the costs of rental fees, equipment, catering and staff, including ushers, waitstaff, housekeeping, engineering, security and stagehand labor. who’s eligible?
The following is not an exhaustive list, but a sample of eligible candidates.
- Professional touring company seeking to tech a show
- Choreographer or a dance company in need of rehearsal space
- Theater company looking for a performance space
- Composers needing a quiet studio
- Choirs and ensembles seeking a rehearsal room
- Non-profits needing event space
criteria for selection
Decisions are based on the content of the prospective program and primary selection criteria include:
- Alignment with NJPAC’s mission
- The measure of community impact
- Availability of desired space
- Projects of limited duration
- The program’s ability to resonate beyond its time at NJPAC
- Potential to collaborate and/or partner with existing NJPAC programs
- A demonstrated financial need
