Don’t miss this opportunity to go “behind the scenes” with acclaimed documentary filmmaker Ken Burns as he previews his latest endeavor, THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION.

RevolutionNJ is proud to host An Afternoon with Ken Burns on Wednesday, September 17 at 1:30PM to celebrate the premiere of his new series, THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION. Featuring a sneak preview screening of his new six-part series, the event also features a conversation with Ken Burns, co-director Sarah Botstein, and film advisor/historian Christopher Brown (Columbia University). Journalist and television news anchor Brian Williams will moderate the discussion. An optional luncheon with Ken Burns (additional cost) precedes the event.

THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, available on PBS starting November 16, 2025, examines how America’s founding turned the world upside-down, reshaped a continent, and inspired democratic movements around the globe. Join us for a special luncheon at 11:30AM in NJPAC’s Chase Room with Ken Burns, award-winning documentary filmmaker, and members of his team. Burns will share thoughts about his career and the impact of his documentaries in advancing history and civic engagement. There will also be a brief presentation about New Jersey’s plans for commemorating America’s 250th anniversary. Dietary options are available. Seating is limited.
