It’s brunch with a side of bop!
Join us for another edition of Dorthaan’s Place, the legendary jazz brunch series curated by “Newark’s First Lady of Jazz,” Dorthaan Kirk. Enjoy a sumptuous Sunday buffet at NJPAC’s in-house restaurant, nico kitchen + bar, while you listen to tenor saxophonist Houston Person and his quartet. Person is best known for 30-year partnership with vocalist Etta Jones, although his recent albums bring a full-bodied sound to popular American Songbook standards like “Blue Moon,” “Skylark,” and “My Funny Valentine.”
There are two brunch seatings: 11am (music begins at 11:30 am) and 1pm (music begins at 1:30 pm). Dorthaan’s Place will sell out! Reserve your spot now.
“Houston Person is one of the most soulful jazz players on the scene today.”
