WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ATTENDING A PERFORMANCE AT NJPAC DURING THE PANDEMIC:

The safety of our patrons, our staff, and our artists is NJPAC’s first priority.

To ensure the safety of everyone who works at or visits the Arts Center, NJPAC has been closed during the first months of the pandemic, and will not reopen for live performances until both city and state governments, and guidance from institutions including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, assure us that it is safe to do so.

We know that during this challenging time,  you may have conflicting thoughts about buying tickets for future performances. While we can’t control the unprecedented circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic, we want you to know that we will always make the health of everyone on our campus our primary concern.

And we want to offer you as many assurances as we can that your ticket purchase is protected. You should know before you buy a ticket that:

  • If your performance is canceled because of the pandemic, your money will be refunded in full, including all fees. *
  • If your performance is rescheduled because of the pandemic, your tickets will automatically be moved into the new performance date, and you will be notified of this change. You will also be offered instructions on how to obtain a refund if you do not wish to attend the rescheduled performance.
  • If the performance goes on as scheduled and you choose not to attend, we cannot guarantee a refund of your tickets in this situation. If you have any questions, please call 1-888-696-5722.

If you are owed a refund for tickets to a canceled or rescheduled performance, we’d like to ask that you consider giving all or a portion of the ticket price as a donation to NJPAC, to support our arts education, social justice, and community engagement programs, which have continued online throughout the pandemic. Your donation will also keep the Arts Center resilient, and ensure that NJPAC will continue to be able to bring world-class performers from around the globe to New Jersey audiences. Please call 1-888-MY-NJPAC to speak with a representative about donating your ticket refund.

* This applies ONLY to tickets purchased directly from NJPAC. Tickets purchased from third party sources are not covered. Customers purchasing from resellers must work directly with their resellers.

HOW WE’VE MADE NJPAC’S CAMPUS SAFER

You will notice a number of changes to the Arts Center’s facilities the next time you visit our campus for a performance. All of these improvements have been made to reduce the possibility of virus exposure for anyone visiting our campus and to ensure that our buildings are as safe as possible for all of our patrons, our artists, and our staff. These include:

  • The heating and cooling systems at NJPAC’s main building were replaced during the past year, and our HVAC system is now equipped with filtration systems that meet or exceed guidelines for effective virus filtration.
  • NJPAC’s housekeeping staff now uses cleaning products recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and has been trained in methods for properly sanitizing all areas of our campus.
  • Hand sanitizing stations have been installed throughout the Arts Center, especially near all “high touch” locations.
  • Socially-distanced and, in some instances, hands-free procedures are in place to allow patrons to access the restrooms, concession stands and merchandise stalls as safely as possible.
  • Seating capacity in both Prudential Hall and the Victoria Theater have been significantly reduced, so that patrons can remain socially distanced from others in the audience throughout the performance.

AUDIENCE GUIDELINES:

When NJPAC reopens for live performances, a number of procedures will be in place to make everyone as safe as possible. When you buy a ticket, you agree to follow all the protocols NJPAC has established to reduce the possibility that you or anyone else in the audience will be exposed to the coronavirus.

We understand that some of these enhanced safety precautions may be inconvenient, but these extra steps are necessary to keep us all healthy.

When we reopen the Arts Center, the following safety measures will be enforced:

  • All patrons will have their temperature checked at the building entrance. No one with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will be allowed to enter the Arts Center. Customers who cannot attend a performance because of elevated temperatures are entitled to a full refund. *
  • All patrons over the age of two will be required to wear a face mask that covers both the nose and the mouth.  If you refuse to wear a mask, you will not be allowed to attend the performance, and your tickets will not be refunded.  If you require special accommodations, please call 1-888-MY-NJPAC (888-696-5722) before purchasing your tickets. On the day of the performance, please call 973-297-5843 or email ticketservices@njpac.org
  • All patrons must agree to abide by social-distancing guidelines and to follow the directions of management when in queues, while entering the theater, and in concession lines, in elevators, in Nico Kitchen + Bar, in restrooms and at the self-pay kiosks in Lot A.
  • All patrons must agree to schedule their arrival at the theater when requested to do so, and to leave the theater at the direction of house management ushers at the conclusion of the performance.
  • All patrons must follow all posted instructions and verbal directions of management while they are on NJPAC property.

We apologize for any inconvenience these mitigation measures may cause, and we thank you for helping us ensure that live performances can once again be held safely at NJPAC.

Of course, despite our best efforts, we cannot absolutely guarantee that you will not be exposed to COVID-19 while at NJPAC. Please be aware that the risk of such exposure exists in any public place or large gathering. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and those with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable to this disease.  Please take this into consideration before buying tickets. If you are or anyone in your party is in one of these vulnerable demographics, attending a performance may not be the right choice for you at this time. By visiting NJPAC you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

* This applies ONLY to tickets purchased directly from NJPAC. Tickets purchased from third party sources are not covered. Customers purchasing from resellers must work directly with their resellers.

By purchasing a ticket for an event at NJPAC, you understand and expressly acknowledge that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present.  You and any of your guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, whether known or unknown, and hereby release and waive any claims against NJPAC and its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, holding companies, divisions, licensees, sureties, insurers, advertising and promotional agencies, any other related entities, and their respective directors, officers, managers, members, employees, representatives and agents, and all of their respective successors and assigns from any and all claims, demands, actions, suits, proceedings, costs, expenses, damages, and liabilities, including without limitation reasonable attorney’s fees and costs, arising out of, in connection with, resulting from, or related to your access to NJPAC’s premises and any claim related in whole or in part to illness, death, disability, personal injury, property damage or any other claim for damages or other relief.  You agree to observe and obey all instructions, warnings, or other requirements provided on-site, including by wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, and other guidance that may be communicated on site.

We require all patrons 2 year of age and older to wear face coverings/masks, consent to their temperature being taken (with admittance being conditioned upon a temperature of less than 100.4 degrees), and adhere to all COVID related safety requirements designated by NJPAC now or in the future. If you require special accommodations, please call 1-888-MY-NJPAC (888-696-5722) before purchasing your tickets. On the day of the performance, please call 973-297-5843 or email ticketservices@njpac.org. Failure to follow any NJPAC designated health or safety rules at any time will result in expulsion from the theater without a refund.
