On July 22, NJPAC announced that the Arts Center will extend its suspension of operations as a presenter through January 1.
NJPAC had previously canceled performances through September 12.

“We are taking to heart guidance from the CDC, Governor Phil Murphy, and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka that the best role we can play as citizens to prevent the spread of this virus is to practice social distancing. We wish every member of our community safety and good health during this unprecedented time in our lives.”
All NJPAC-produced performances previously scheduled to take place through January 1 will be canceled or postponed. NJPAC’S Box Office will be closed during this hiatus, but tickets for future performances are still available online at njpac.org and by calling 1-888-GO NJPAC.
Customers who have purchased tickets for a show slated between today and January 1 will be contacted to inform them of their options, which will include the ability to transfer their tickets to a rescheduled performance date, or to receive a refund.
We look forward to reopening NJPAC’s administrative offices to prepare for performances and, if conditions at that time allow, to recommence select arts education and community engagement events.
We are working with our artists to secure new performance dates, and anticipate having all rescheduling information available in the next few weeks. We encourage you to retain your tickets for postponed performances, to ensure your current prime seat location. If you have transferred your tickets to someone else, please make them aware of this change.

To help limit the spread of the coronavirus and the seasonal flu, NJPAC has instituted precautions based on guidance provided by the New Jersey Department of Health and the US Centers for Disease Control. We will continue to update our procedures in line with their advice.
What is NJPAC doing to minimize risk?
In addition to communicating best health and safety practices to our internal and external guests, NJPAC has implemented enhanced environmental cleaning throughout our venues and offices. This includes:
Additional cleaning and disinfecting of all frequently touched countertops, theater seat armrests, handrails, doorknobs and elevator buttons using hospital-grade solvents.
Additional hand sanitizers available throughout all public, backstage and office spaces.
Installation of hand washing reminder signs in all of our restrooms.
How can I best ensure my safety and that of others at NJPAC?
To further minimize risks for everyone, we ask that you please be mindful of the following:
Wash and/or sanitize your hands regularly.
Practice good respiratory etiquette (e.g. cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing).
Avoid touching your face.
Do not attend a performance if you are not feeling well and/or are exhibiting symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath.
Is NJPAC canceling any events?
The CDC and the New Jersey Department of Health have advised that there is no reason at this time to avoid public gatherings in New Jersey. NJPAC cannot offer refunds to customers who are unwilling to attend a performance. If the recommendations of the CDC and NJ DOH change, we will notify our customers.
