In this free virtual presentation, learn about the colorful life of Newark jazz pianist Willie “The Lion” Smith. Despite an incredibly difficult childhood in the early 1900s, “The Lion” went on to become one of the most influential jazz musicians of his time. From his story, we’ll learn how our experiences shape us, but don’t define us.
