Kenny Lattimore and special guests ms. Lisa Fischer, Tawatha Agee & Ray Chew

R&B Hall of Famer Kenny Lattimore headlines this celebration of ’80s hitmaker and activist James Mtume. The founder of the band Mtume created funky R&B jams like “Juicy Fruit,” “You, Me and He,” “Would You Like to Fool Around” and “Breathless.” With his songwriting partner Reggie Lucas, he also produced for Roberta Flack, Donny Hathaway, Stephanie Mills and Phyllis Hyman. This evening features special performances by two-time GRAMMY® winner Ms. Lisa Fischer (“How Can I Ease the Pain,” 20 Feet from Stardom) and Mtume’s captivating lead vocalist Tawatha Agee, led by musical director Ray Chew. Join us as we honor Mtume’s enduring impact on music, culture and politics.
