Overview
Join us for a film screening of A Renaissance Endeavor, a documentary highlighting 20 years of dance education in the Newark Public School system, followed by a panel discussion. The documentary, created as a resource for all educators, will include a historical timeline of dance education programs within the Newark Board of Education (NBOE). NBOE’s dance education programs have expanded to 29 schools since 2001, and are continuing to grow.
The panel discussion will be moderated by Karen Love, dance educator and founder and artistic director of Umoja and Usaama Dance Company. Our panelists will include leading dance educators Susan Pope, Janelle S.Ings and Cindy Nicholson. Tune in for a historical look at dance education in the Brick City on June 3 at 6PM!
