Overview

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Silkroad Ensemble with Rhiannon Giddens’ performance on July 23, 2022 is being postponed. We look forward to bringing another exciting Silkroad performance to NJPAC in the future and will announce a new date soon.

Stacked with fourteen groundbreaking performers, the multinational ensemble offers a musical rebirth and celebration as our world emerges from a long and stunning upheaval. Contemporary and ancient, familiar and foreign, Silkroad Ensemble draws on a rich tapestry of styles and instruments—including the Indian tabla, the Celtic harp, the Persian kamancheh, the Chinese yangqin and the Japanese shakuhachi.

The group is helmed by Silkroad’s dynamic new Artistic Director, Rhiannon Giddens, a MacArthur Genius Grant recipient, GRAMMY® winning multi-instrumentalist and vocalist.

“One of the most visionary arts initiatives of our time.”
