Join the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. North Jersey Alumnae Chapter and NJPAC’s City Verses for an evening of jazz and poetry that celebrates International Jazz Day, National Poetry Month and Langston Hughes. This special collaboration brings two Newark poets, Dimitri Reyes and Treasure Borde and renowned jazz saxophonist, Mark Gross and his quartet together to share interpretations of Hughes’ poems set to jazz. The free virtual presentation will be followed by an engaging conversation moderated by Mark Gross with the poets and musicians discussing Hughes’ impact on jazz and of course, on poetry. This promises to be an unforgettable evening!
