Overview

Jazz, blues and poetry are integrally tied to one another. There’s an interplay of musicians writing in verse and writers being inspired by the percussion of music. This panel, comprised of poets, musicians and historians, explains the importance of language and music and how spoken word artists keep rhythm alive.

The Creator’s Room series is intimate conversations for parents, students and emerging artists who are interested in pursuing careers in arts and entertainment. The series features creators working behind the scenes expressing the importance of protecting individual artistry and providing tangible resources to participants so they can jumpstart or reignite their careers.
