Join us this Wellness Wednesday for a basic hula steps class with John-Mario Sevilla, who will be teaching virtually from Hawaii!

John-Mario, former director of 92Y Harkness Dance Center, 92Y Dance Education Laboratory, and the New York City Ballet Education Department, hails from Paukúkalo, Maui. He has danced in many companies including Pilobolus, Rebecca Stenn, From the Horse’s Mouth, Daman Harun, Erin Dudley, Lisa Giobbi, Nikolais and Louis, and Janis Brenner, among others. He has a MA in Dance and Dance Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and an MFA in Dance Performance from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

In addition to being an acclaimed dancer and choreographer, John-Mario is a skilled teacher who has taught students of all ages at schools across the country, including New York University Steinhardt and Drew University. Now, for NJPAC, he is excited to share his passion for hula through this virtual class for all levels of movers! Don’t miss this unique workshop on May 4 at 7:30PM.
