Overview
In celebration of the TD Moody James Jazz Festival, join us for a special jazz class led by Cori Barnes!
Cori started her career as an actress and model — she was the first African American to appear in a Bounty paper towel commercial! — but has also been dancing since she was just two years old. She’s danced with the likes of Debbie Mitchell, Lisa Attles, Adrienne Armstrong, Karen Love and Christopher Livsey, and studied at both Sharon Miller’s Academy for the Performing Arts and the Dance Theater of Harlem. She joined the M.A. Taylor dance company at the age of 13, where she’s still a member of the company today.
She’s now a ballet instructor and choreographer and runs IROCFIT Services, her own dance school. In this virtual class for NJPAC, Cori will teach her unique brand of jazz movement with influences from ballet, modern dance, and other current forms of popular dance. Tune in for this Wellness Wednesday workshop on November 3 at 7:30 PM.
