You have something to say — and we want to hear it!

Rutgers-Newark and NJPAC invite you to make your voice heard through a new partnership: City Verses.  This unique, multifaceted program includes several intergenerational educational programs that will celebrate and expand upon jazz’s rich, historical interaction with poetry.

Jazz musicians and teaching artists from NJPAC and poets affiliated with Rutgers-Newark’s renowned MFA program are joining forces to create a new curriculum around the intersection of jazz and poetry. In the coming months, we’ll offer new and unexpected opportunities for the public to engage with these art forms. Our goal: To amplify the authentic voices of the people of Greater Newark, a city with a diverse and ever-expanding cultural legacy, by providing forums where they can speak their piece. Join us!
